Monster High Cake

When I was asked to create this cake, I had never heard of Monster High before. I've come to the conclusion that they [the dolls] are the new Barbie. It's Mattel's new line of fashion dolls. Don't quote me, I could be wrong, after all, I'm a mom of boys...

This is pretty much all I had to go off of. I tried to incorporate the stripes, though they didn't quite turn out as planned. I think I did the skull pretty well though!

Happy Birthday Pam! I hope you like it!

Rustic Wedding Cake with Burlap

The opportunity presented itself for me to make a wedding cake. The picture she sent me was this very simple rustic looking cake with a burlap bow on it. But I calmly was able to put the cake together, as I played hostess for people coming and going.  With a few days notice, they added an additional sheet ca...

Wreck It Ralph Cake

My son turned 5 years old today and requested a Wreck It Ralph cake. In my mind, I'm thinking "Oh that's going to be pretty easy. It's just a building." Ha! I officially hate square cakes...or maybe I just need more practice! Luckily I was able to cover up most of my boo-boos! In case you haven't seen the movie yet, here is a picture the cake on the movie. I think Ralph and Fix-It Felix turned out great! A lot better than what I had in my mind. Usually it's the opposite!    To prevent them from continuously tipping over on the top, they had to move to the ground for more pictures. : ) He was pretty proud! (Especially since I let him glue the shrubs to the board!)
